李(li)(li)德(de)林(lin),字(zi)公辅,博陵(ling)安平(ping)人(ren)也。祖寿,湖州户曹从(cong)(cong)事。父(fu)敬(jing)族,历太学博士、镇远将军。魏孝静帝时(shi),命当世(shi)通人(ren)正定文籍,以为内校书,别(bie)在直閤省(sheng)。德(de)林(lin)幼(you)聪敏,年数岁,诵(song)左思(si)《蜀都(dou)赋(fu)》,十余(yu)(yu)日(ri)便(bian)度。高(gao)隆之(zhi)(zhi)见而(er)嗟(jie)叹(tan),遍告朝士,云: “若假(jia)其年,必为天下伟器。”鄴京人(ren)士多就(jiu)宅观之(zhi)(zhi),月余(yu)(yu),日(ri)中车马不(bu)绝。年十五(wu),诵(song)五(wu)经及古今文集,日(ri)数千言。俄而(er)该(gai)博坟典,阴阳纬候,无(wu)不(bu)通涉(she)。善属文,辞核(he)而(er)理(li)暢。魏收(shou)尝对高(gao)隆之(zhi)(zhi)谓其父(fu)曰(yue):“贤子文笔终当继温子升。”隆之(zhi)(zhi)大(da)笑曰(yue): “魏常(chang)侍(shi)殊已(yi)嫉(ji)贤,何不(bu)近(jin)比老彭,乃远求温子!”年十六,遭父(fu)艰,自驾灵舆,反(fan)葬故里。时(shi)正严冬,单衰跣(xian)足,州里人(ren)物由(you)是敬(jing)慕之(zhi)(zhi)。博陵(ling)豪族有崔谌(chen)者,仆射之(zhi)(zhi)兄,因休假(jia)还乡(xiang),车服甚盛(sheng)。将从(cong)(cong)其宅诣德(de)林(lin)赴(fu)吊,相去十余(yu)(yu)里,从(cong)(cong)者数十骑(qi),稍稍减留。比至德(de)林(lin)门,才(cai)余(yu)(yu)五(wu)骑(qi),云不(bu)得令李(li)(li)生怪(guai)人(ren)燻灼。德(de)林(lin)居贫(pin)感轲,母氏(shi)多疾,方(fang)留心典籍,无(wu)复(fu)宦情。其后,母病稍愈,逼令仕(shi)进。

任城王(wang)湝为(wei)(wei)定州(zhou)刺史,重其才(cai),召入(ru)(ru)(ru)州(zhou)馆。朝夕同游,殆均师友,不为(wei)(wei)君(jun)民(min)礼数。尝语(yu)德(de)林(lin)(lin)云:“窃闻蔽贤蒙显戮(lu)。久令君(jun)沈(shen)滞,吾独得润身(shen),朝廷纵(zong)不见(jian)尤,亦惧明(ming)灵所谴(qian)。”于是举秀才(cai)入(ru)(ru)(ru)鄴(ye),于时天(tian)保(bao)八(ba)年也。王(wang)因遗尚(shang)书(shu)令杨遵(zun)彦(yan)(yan)书(shu)云: “燕赵(zhao)固多奇士(shi),此(ci)言(yan)诚不为(wei)(wei)谬。今岁所贡秀才(cai)李德(de)林(lin)(lin)者,文(wen)章学识,固不待言(yan),观(guan)其风神(shen)器宇(yu),终为(wei)(wei)栋(dong)梁之(zhi)(zhi)用。至如经国(guo)大(da)体(ti),是贾生、晁错(cuo)之(zhi)(zhi)俦;雕(diao)虫小技,殆相如、子云之(zhi)(zhi)辈。今虽唐、虞(yu)君(jun)世,俊乂盈朝,然修(xiu)大(da)厦者,岂(qi)厌夫良材之(zhi)(zhi)积也?吾尝见(jian)孔文(wen)举《荐(jian)祢衡表》云:‘洪水(shui)横流(liu),帝(di)思俾乂。’以(yi)(yi)正(zheng)平比(bi)夫大(da)禹,常谓拟谕非(fei)伦。今以(yi)(yi)德(de)林(lin)(lin)言(yan)之(zhi)(zhi),便觉(jue)前言(yan)非(fei)大(da)。”遵(zun)彦(yan)(yan)即(ji)(ji)命德(de)林(lin)(lin)制《让尚(shang)书(shu)令表》,援笔(bi)立(li)成,不加治(zhi)点。因大(da)相赏异,以(yi)(yi)示(shi)吏部郎中陆卬。卬云:“已大(da)见(jian)其文(wen)笔(bi),浩(hao)浩(hao)如长(zhang)河东注。比(bi)来所见(jian),后生制作,乃涓浍(hui)之(zhi)(zhi)流(liu)耳。”卬仍命其子乂与德(de)林(lin)(lin)周旋(xuan),戒之(zhi)(zhi)曰:“汝每事宜师此(ci)人(ren)(ren),以(yi)(yi)为(wei)(wei)模楷。”时遵(zun)彦(yan)(yan)铨衡,深(shen)(shen)慎选举,秀才(cai)擢(zhuo)第,罕有甲科(ke)。德(de)林(lin)(lin)射策(ce)五条,考皆(jie)为(wei)(wei)上,授(shou)殿中将军。既是西省散员,非(fei)其所好,又(you)以(yi)(yi)天(tian)保(bao)季世,乃谢病(bing)还乡,阖门守道。乾(qian)明(ming)初,遵(zun)彦(yan)(yan)奏追德(de)林(lin)(lin)入(ru)(ru)(ru)议曹(cao)。皇(huang)建初,下(xia)诏(zhao)搜扬人(ren)(ren)物,复追赴(fu)晋阳。撰《春思赋》一篇,代(dai)称典丽。是时长(zhang)广王(wang)作相,居守在鄴(ye)。敕德(de)林(lin)(lin)还京,与散骑常侍(shi)高(gao)元(yuan)海(hai)等(deng)参掌机密。王(wang)引授(shou)丞相府行参军。未几而王(wang)即(ji)(ji)帝(di)位,授(shou)奉朝请(qing),寓直舍(she)人(ren)(ren)省。河清中,授(shou)员外散骑侍(shi)郎,带斋帅,仍别(bie)直机密省。天(tian)统初,授(shou)给(ji)事中,直中书(shu),参掌诏(zhao)诰。寻迁中书(shu)舍(she)人(ren)(ren)。武平初,加通(tong)直散骑侍(shi)郎。又(you)敕与中书(shu)侍(shi)郎宋士(shi)素、副侍(shi)中赵(zhao)彦(yan)(yan)深(shen)(shen)别(bie)典机密。寻丁母艰去(qu)职(zhi),勺饮不入(ru)(ru)(ru)口(kou)五日(ri)。因发(fa)热病(bing),遍体(ti)生疮,而哀泣不绝。诸士(shi)友陆骞、宋士(shi)素,名医张子彦(yan)(yan)等(deng),为(wei)(wei)合(he)汤(tang)药。德(de)林(lin)(lin)不肯(ken)进,遍体(ti)洪肿(zhong),数日(ri)间(jian),一时顿差,身(shen)力平复。诸人(ren)(ren)皆(jie)云孝感所致。太常博士(shi)巴(ba)叔仁表上其事,朝廷嘉之(zhi)(zhi)。才(cai)满百(bai)日(ri),夺(duo)情起复,德(de)林(lin)(lin)以(yi)(yi)羸病(bing)属疾,请(qing)急罢归。

魏收(shou)与(yu)阳(yang)休之(zhi)(zhi)论(lun)(lun)(lun)《齐书(shu)》起元(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)事(shi),敕(chi)集百司会(hui)议(yi)。收(shou)与(yu)德林书(shu)曰(yue):“前者议(yi)文,总诸事(shi)意,小(xiao)如混漫,难可领(ling)解。今便随(sui)事(shi)条列,幸(xing)为留怀,细加推逐。凡言(yan)或(huo)者,皆是(shi)敌人之(zhi)(zhi)议(yi)。既(ji)闻人说,因(yin)而探(tan)论(lun)(lun)(lun)耳。”德林复书(shu)曰(yue):“即位(wei)之(zhi)(zhi)元(yuan)(yuan)(yuan),《春(chun)秋(qiu)》常(chang)义。谨(jin)按鲁君(jun)息姑不称(cheng)(cheng)即位(wei),亦有元(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)年(nian)(nian),非(fei)独即位(wei)得称(cheng)(cheng)元(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)年(nian)(nian)也。议(yi)云受(shou)终之(zhi)(zhi)元(yuan)(yuan)(yuan),《尚(shang)书(shu)》之(zhi)(zhi)古(gu)典。谨(jin)按《大(da)传(chuan)》,周(zhou)公摄(she)政(zheng),一(yi)年(nian)(nian)救(jiu)乱(luan),二年(nian)(nian)伐殷,三年(nian)(nian)践奄,四年(nian)(nian)建侯(hou)卫,五年(nian)(nian)营成周(zhou),六年(nian)(nian)制礼作乐,七年(nian)(nian)致政(zheng)成王(wang)。论(lun)(lun)(lun)者或(huo)以(yi)(yi)舜、禹(yu)受(shou)终,是(shi)为天(tian)子(zi)。然则周(zhou)公以(yi)(yi)臣礼而死,此亦称(cheng)(cheng)元(yuan)(yuan)(yuan),非(fei)独受(shou)终为帝也。蒙示(shi)议(yi)文,扶病(bing)省览,荒(huang)情迷识(shi),暂得发蒙。当(dang)世君(jun)子(zi),必无横议(yi),唯应阁笔赞成而已。辄(zhe)谓前二条有益(yi)于议(yi),仰见议(yi)中不录,谨(jin)以(yi)(yi)写呈(cheng)。”收(shou)重(zhong)遗书(shu)曰(yue):“惠示(shi)二事(shi),感佩殊深。以(yi)(yi)鲁公诸侯(hou)之(zhi)(zhi)事(shi),昨小(xiao)为疑(yi)。息姑不书(shu)即位(wei),舜、禹(yu)亦不言(yan)即位(wei)。息姑虽摄(she),尚(shang)得书(shu)元(yuan)(yuan)(yuan),舜、禹(yu)之(zhi)(zhi)摄(she)称(cheng)(cheng)元(yuan)(yuan)(yuan),理也。周(zhou)公居摄(she),乃云一(yi)年(nian)(nian)救(jiu)乱(luan),似不称(cheng)(cheng)元(yuan)(yuan)(yuan)。自无《大(da)传(chuan)》,不得寻讨。一(yi)之(zhi)(zhi)与(yu)元(yuan)(yuan)(yuan),其事(shi)何别?更有所见,幸(xing)请论(lun)(lun)(lun)之(zhi)(zhi)。”德林答曰(yue):

摄(she)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)与相(xiang)(xiang),其义一也(ye)。故周(zhou)(zhou)公摄(she)政,孔子(zi)曰(yue)“周(zhou)(zhou)公相(xiang)(xiang)成王”;魏武相(xiang)(xiang)汉,曹植(zhi)曰(yue)“如(ru)虞(yu)翼唐”。或云(yun)高祖身未居(ju)摄(she),灼然(ran)非理。摄(she)者专(zhuan)赏(shang)罚之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)名,古今事殊(shu),不(bu)(bu)可以体为(wei)断。陆机见舜肆类上帝,班(ban)瑞群后,便云(yun)舜有天下,须(xu)格于(yu)文祖也(ye),欲(yu)使晋之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)三(san)主(zhu)异于(yu)舜摄(she)。窃以为(wei)舜若(ruo)尧死,狱(yu)讼不(bu)(bu)归,便是夏朝(chao)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)益(yi),何得不(bu)(bu)须(xu)格于(yu)文祖也(ye)?若(ruo)使用王者之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)礼,便曰(yue)即真(zhen),则周(zhou)(zhou)公负扆朝(chao)诸(zhu)侯,霍光(guang)行周(zhou)(zhou)公之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)事,皆(jie)真(zhen)帝乎?斯不(bu)(bu)然(ran)矣。必知高祖与舜摄(she)不(bu)(bu)殊(shu),不(bu)(bu)得从士衡之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)谬。

或(huo)以(yi)(yi)为(wei)书元(yuan)(yuan)年(nian)者,当时(shi)实录,非追书也(ye)(ye)(ye)。大齐之(zhi)兴,实由武(wu)帝,谦匿受(shou)命(ming)(ming),岂(qi)(qi)直(zhi)史(shi)(shi)也(ye)(ye)(ye)?比观(guan)论(lun)者闻追举(ju)受(shou)命(ming)(ming)之(zhi)元(yuan)(yuan),多有(you)河汉(han),但言追数受(shou)命(ming)(ming)之(zhi)岁(sui),情或(huo)安之(zhi)。似所(suo)怖(bu)者元(yuan)(yuan)字(zi)耳,事类(lei)朝三,是(shi)许(xu)(xu)(xu)其一(yi)年(nian),不许(xu)(xu)(xu)其元(yuan)(yuan)年(nian)也(ye)(ye)(ye)。案《易》“黄裳元(yuan)(yuan)吉(ji)”,郑玄注云(yun)(yun):“如舜试天子,周公摄政(zheng)。”是(shi)以(yi)(yi)试摄不殊。《大传》虽无元(yuan)(yuan)字(zi),一(yi)之(zhi)与(yu)元(yuan)(yuan),无异义矣。《春(chun)(chun)秋》不言一(yi)年(nian)一(yi)月(yue)者,欲(yu)使(shi)人(ren)(ren)君体元(yuan)(yuan)以(yi)(yi)居正,盖史(shi)(shi)之(zhi)婉辞(ci),非一(yi)与(yu)元(yuan)(yuan)别也(ye)(ye)(ye)。汉(han)献帝死(si),刘备自(zi)尊崇。陈寿(shou)蜀人(ren)(ren),以(yi)(yi)魏(wei)(wei)为(wei)汉(han)贼(zei)。宁(ning)肯(ken)(ken)蜀主未立,已(yi)云(yun)(yun)魏(wei)(wei)武(wu)受(shou)命(ming)(ming)乎?士(shi)衡(heng)自(zi)尊本国,诚如高议,欲(yu)使(shi)三方鼎(ding)峙,同为(wei)霸名。习氏《汉(han)晋春(chun)(chun)秋》,意(yi)在是(shi)也(ye)(ye)(ye)。至司马(ma)炎兼并,许(xu)(xu)(xu)其帝号(hao)(hao)(hao)。魏(wei)(wei)之(zhi)君臣,吴人(ren)(ren)并以(yi)(yi)为(wei)戮贼(zei),亦(yi)宁(ning)肯(ken)(ken)当涂之(zhi)世,云(yun)(yun)晋有(you)受(shou)命(ming)(ming)之(zhi)徵?史(shi)(shi)者,编(bian)年(nian)也(ye)(ye)(ye),故(gu)鲁号(hao)(hao)(hao)《纪(ji)年(nian)》。墨子又(you)云(yun)(yun),吾见《百(bai)国春(chun)(chun)秋》。史(shi)(shi)又(you)有(you)无事而书年(nian)者,是(shi)重年(nian)验(yan)也(ye)(ye)(ye)。若欲(yu)高祖(zu)事事谦冲,即须号(hao)(hao)(hao)令皆推魏(wei)(wei)氏。便是(shi)编(bian)魏(wei)(wei)年(nian),纪(ji)魏(wei)(wei)事,此即魏(wei)(wei)末功(gong)臣之(zhi)传,岂(qi)(qi)复皇朝帝纪(ji)者也(ye)(ye)(ye)。

陆(lu)机称纪(ji)元立断(duan),或(huo)(huo)以正始(shi)(shi),或(huo)(huo)以嘉(jia)平(ping)。束皙议(yi)云,赤雀白鱼之(zhi)事。恐晋朝之(zhi)议(yi),是并论受命之(zhi)元,非止代(dai)终(zhong)之(zhi)断(duan)也。公议(yi)云陆(lu)机不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)议(yi)元者,是所未喻,愿更思之(zhi)。陆(lu)机以刊木著于(yu)《虞书》,龛黎见于(yu)商(shang)典(dian),以蔽晋朝正始(shi)(shi)、嘉(jia)平(ping)之(zhi)议(yi),斯又谬矣。唯可(ke)二(er)代(dai)相涉,两(liang)史(shi)并书,必不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)得(de)以后朝创(chuang)业之(zhi)迹,断(duan)入(ru)前史(shi)。若然,则世宗、高祖(zu)皆天(tian)保(bao)以前,唯入(ru)魏(wei)氏列传,不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)作(zuo)齐朝帝(di)纪(ji),可(ke)乎?此既不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)可(ke),彼(bi)复何证!

是时中(zhong)书(shu)侍(shi)郎(lang)(lang)杜台(tai)卿(qing)上《世(shi)祖(zu)武成皇帝颂》,齐主以为(wei)未(wei)尽善,令和士(shi)开以颂示德林(lin)(lin)。宣(xuan)旨(zhi)云:“台(tai)卿(qing)此文(wen),未(wei)当朕(zhen)意。以卿(qing)有大才,须叙盛德,即(ji)宜速作,急进本(ben)也。”德林(lin)(lin)乃上颂十六章(zhang)并(bing)序,文(wen)多不载。武成览颂善之(zhi),赐名马(ma)一匹(pi)。三(san)年,祖(zu)孝(xiao)徵入为(wei)侍(shi)中(zhong),尚书(shu)左仆射赵彦深(shen)(shen)出(chu)为(wei)兗州(zhou)刺史。朝士(shi)有先为(wei)孝(xiao)徵所待(dai)遇者,间德林(lin)(lin),云是彦深(shen)(shen)党与,不可仍掌(zhang)机密。孝(xiao)徵曰:“德林(lin)(lin)久滞(zhi)绛衣,我常恨彦深(shen)(shen)待(dai)贤未(wei)足。内(nei)省文(wen)翰(han),方以委之(zhi)。寻当有佳处(chu)分,不宜妄说。”寻除中(zhong)书(shu)侍(shi)郎(lang)(lang),仍诏修(xiu)国(guo)史。齐主留情文(wen)雅,召(zhao)入文(wen)林(lin)(lin)馆。又令与黄门(men)侍(shi)郎(lang)(lang)颜(yan)之(zhi)推二人同(tong)判文(wen)林(lin)(lin)馆事。五(wu)年,敕令与黄门(men)侍(shi)郎(lang)(lang)李(li)孝(xiao)贞、中(zhong)书(shu)侍(shi)郎(lang)(lang)李(li)若别(bie)掌(zhang)宣(xuan)传。寻除通直(zhi)散骑常侍(shi),兼(jian)中(zhong)书(shu)侍(shi)郎(lang)(lang)。隆化中(zhong),假仪同(tong)三(san)司。承光中(zhong),授仪同(tong)三(san)司。

及(ji)周武帝(di)(di)克齐,入(ru)鄴之(zhi)(zhi)日(ri),敕小司马(ma)唐道和(he)就(jiu)宅宣旨慰喻,云:“平齐之(zhi)(zhi)利,唯在于尔。朕本畏尔逐齐王东(dong)走,今闻犹在,大(da)(da)(da)以(yi)慰怀,宜(yi)即(ji)入(ru)相见。”道和(he)引之(zhi)(zhi)入(ru)内,遣内史字文昂访问齐朝风(feng)俗政教、人物(wu)善恶,即(ji)留内省,三宿乃归。仍遣从驾(jia)至长安,授(shou)内史上士。自此以(yi)后(hou),诏诰(gao)格(ge)式,及(ji)用山东(dong)人物(wu),一(yi)以(yi)委之(zhi)(zhi)。武帝(di)(di)尝于云阳宫作鲜卑语(yu)谓(wei)群臣(chen)云:“我常(chang)日(ri)唯闻李(li)德(de)林名,及(ji)见其(qi)与齐朝作诏书移檄,我正谓(wei)其(qi)是天上人。岂(qi)言今日(ri)得其(qi)驱使,复为我作文书,极为大(da)(da)(da)异。”神武公(gong)纥豆陵(ling)毅答曰(yue):“臣(chen)闻明王圣主,得骐驎凤凰为瑞,是圣德(de)所感(gan),非力能致(zhi)之(zhi)(zhi)。瑞物(wu)虽来,不堪(kan)使用。如李(li)德(de)林来受驱策(ce),亦(yi)陛下圣德(de)感(gan)致(zhi),有(you)大(da)(da)(da)才(cai)用,无(wu)所不堪(kan),胜于骐驎凤凰远(yuan)矣。”武帝(di)(di)大(da)(da)(da)笑曰(yue):“诚(cheng)如公(gong)言。”宣政末,授(shou)御正下大(da)(da)(da)夫(fu)。大(da)(da)(da)象初,赐爵成(cheng)安县男。

宣帝大(da)(da)(da)(da)渐,属高(gao)(gao)祖(zu)(zu)初受(shou)(shou)顾(gu)命,邗(han)国公(gong)杨惠(hui)谓德(de)林(lin)(lin)(lin)曰:“朝廷赐令(ling)总(zong)文武事(shi),经国任重,非群才辅佐(zuo),无以(yi)(yi)(yi)克成大(da)(da)(da)(da)业。今欲与(yu)公(gong)共事(shi),必(bi)不得(de)辞(ci)。”德(de)林(lin)(lin)(lin)闻(wen)之(zhi)甚喜,乃答云(yun):“德(de)林(lin)(lin)(lin)虽庸芃,微诚亦(yi)有(you)所在。若曲相(xiang)(xiang)提奖,必(bi)望(wang)以(yi)(yi)(yi)死奉(feng)公(gong)。”高(gao)(gao)祖(zu)(zu)大(da)(da)(da)(da)悦,即(ji)(ji)(ji)召与(yu)语。刘昉、郑译(yi)初矫诏(zhao)召高(gao)(gao)祖(zu)(zu)受(shou)(shou)顾(gu)命辅少(shao)主,总(zong)知内外(wai)兵(bing)马事(shi)。诸(zhu)卫既奉(feng)敕(chi),并(bing)受(shou)(shou)高(gao)(gao)祖(zu)(zu)节度(du)。郑译(yi)、刘昉议,欲授(shou)高(gao)(gao)祖(zu)(zu)冢(zhong)(zhong)宰(zai)(zai),郑译(yi)自(zi)摄大(da)(da)(da)(da)司马,刘昉又求(qiu)小冢(zhong)(zhong)宰(zai)(zai)。高(gao)(gao)祖(zu)(zu)私(si)问德(de)林(lin)(lin)(lin)曰:“欲何以(yi)(yi)(yi)见(jian)处?”德(de)林(lin)(lin)(lin)云(yun):“即(ji)(ji)(ji)宜作大(da)(da)(da)(da)丞相(xiang)(xiang),假黄钺,都督内外(wai)诸(zhu)军(jun)(jun)事(shi)。不尔,无以(yi)(yi)(yi)压众(zhong)心。”及(ji)发(fa)丧,便(bian)(bian)即(ji)(ji)(ji)依此(ci)。以(yi)(yi)(yi)译(yi)为(wei)(wei)相(xiang)(xiang)府(fu)长(zhang)史(shi),带(dai)内史(shi)上大(da)(da)(da)(da)夫,昉但为(wei)(wei)丞相(xiang)(xiang)府(fu)司马。译(yi)、昉由(you)是不平。以(yi)(yi)(yi)德(de)林(lin)(lin)(lin)为(wei)(wei)丞相(xiang)(xiang)府(fu)属,加仪(yi)同大(da)(da)(da)(da)将(jiang)(jiang)(jiang)军(jun)(jun)。未几而三方构(gou)乱(luan),指(zhi)授(shou)兵(bing)略,皆与(yu)之(zhi)参详(xiang)。军(jun)(jun)书羽檄,朝夕填委,一日之(zhi)中(zhong),动(dong)逾百(bai)数(shu)。或(huo)机速竞发(fa),口(kou)授(shou)数(shu)人,文意百(bai)端,不加治点。郧(yun)公(gong)韦孝宽为(wei)(wei)东道(dao)元(yuan)帅,师次(ci)永桥(qiao),为(wei)(wei)沁水泛长(zhang),兵(bing)未得(de)度(du)。长(zhang)史(shi)李询上密启(qi)云(yun):“大(da)(da)(da)(da)将(jiang)(jiang)(jiang)梁士彦、宇文忻、崔弘度(du)并(bing)受(shou)(shou)尉迟迥饷金,军(jun)(jun)中(zhong)慅(sao)慅(sao),人情(qing)大(da)(da)(da)(da)异(yi)(yi)。”高(gao)(gao)祖(zu)(zu)得(de)询启(qi),深以(yi)(yi)(yi)为(wei)(wei)忧,与(yu)郑译(yi)议,欲代(dai)此(ci)三人。德(de)林(lin)(lin)(lin)独进计云(yun):“公(gong)与(yu)诸(zhu)将(jiang)(jiang)(jiang),并(bing)是国家贵臣,未相(xiang)(xiang)伏驭,今以(yi)(yi)(yi)挟(xie)令(ling)之(zhi)威,使得(de)之(zhi)耳。安知后所遣(qian)者,能尽腹心,前所遣(qian)人,独致乖异(yi)(yi)?又取金之(zhi)事(shi),虚实难明,即(ji)(ji)(ji)令(ling)换易,彼将(jiang)(jiang)(jiang)惧罪,恐其(qi)逃逸(yi),便(bian)(bian)须(xu)禁锢(gu)。然则郧(yun)公(gong)以(yi)(yi)(yi)下,必(bi)有(you)惊疑之(zhi)意。且临(lin)敌代(dai)将(jiang)(jiang)(jiang),自(zi)古所难,乐毅所以(yi)(yi)(yi)辞(ci)燕,赵括(kuo)以(yi)(yi)(yi)之(zhi)败赵。如愚(yu)所见(jian),但遣(qian)公(gong)一腹心,明于智(zhi)略,为(wei)(wei)诸(zhu)将(jiang)(jiang)(jiang)旧来所信服者,速至军(jun)(jun)所,使观其(qi)情(qing)伪。纵有(you)异(yi)(yi)志,必(bi)不敢动(dong)。”丞相(xiang)(xiang)大(da)(da)(da)(da)悟(wu)曰:“若公(gong)不发(fa)此(ci)言,几败大(da)(da)(da)(da)事(shi)。”即(ji)(ji)(ji)令(ling)高(gao)(gao)颎(jiong)驰驿往军(jun)(jun)所,为(wei)(wei)诸(zhu)将(jiang)(jiang)(jiang)节度(du),竟成大(da)(da)(da)(da)功(gong)。凡(fan)厥谋谟,多此(ci)类也(ye)。进授(shou)丞相(xiang)(xiang)府(fu)从事(shi)内郎。禅代(dai)之(zhi)际(ji),其(qi)相(xiang)(xiang)国总(zong)百(bai)揆、九锡殊礼诏(zhao)策笺(jian)表玺书,皆德(de)林(lin)(lin)(lin)之(zhi)辞(ci)也(ye)。高(gao)(gao)祖(zu)(zu)登阼之(zhi)日,授(shou)内史(shi)令(ling)。

初,将受禅,虞庆则(ze)劝高(gao)祖(zu)尽(jin)灭宇文氏,高(gao)颎、杨(yang)惠亦依违从(cong)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)。唯(wei)德(de)(de)林固争,以(yi)(yi)为(wei)不(bu)可(ke)。高(gao)祖(zu)作色(se)怒云:“君读书人(ren),不(bu)足平(ping)章此事。”于(yu)(yu)是遂尽(jin)诛之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)。自是品位(wei)不(bu)加(jia),出于(yu)(yu)高(gao)、虞之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)下(xia),唯(wei)依班例(li)授(shou)上(shang)仪同(tong),进爵为(wei)子(zi)。开皇元年,敕(chi)令(ling)(ling)(ling)与太(tai)尉任国公(gong)于(yu)(yu)翼、高(gao)颎等同(tong)修律令(ling)(ling)(ling)。事讫奏闻,别赐九(jiu)环金(jin)带一(yi)(yi)腰,骏(jun)马一(yi)(yi)匹,赏损益之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)多也(ye)。格(ge)令(ling)(ling)(ling)班后,苏(su)威(wei)(wei)每(mei)欲(yu)改易事条(tiao)。德(de)(de)林以(yi)(yi)为(wei)格(ge)式已颁,义须画(hua)一(yi)(yi),纵令(ling)(ling)(ling)小有(you)踳(chun)驳(bo),非过(guo)蠹政害民(min)者,不(bu)可(ke)数有(you)改张。威(wei)(wei)又奏置五(wu)百(bai)(bai)家乡(xiang)(xiang)(xiang)(xiang)正(zheng),即令(ling)(ling)(ling)理(li)民(min)间辞讼(song)。德(de)(de)林以(yi)(yi)为(wei)本废乡(xiang)(xiang)(xiang)(xiang)官(guan)判事,为(wei)其里闾亲戚,剖断不(bu)平(ping),今(jin)令(ling)(ling)(ling)乡(xiang)(xiang)(xiang)(xiang)正(zheng)专治五(wu)百(bai)(bai)家,恐为(wei)害更甚。且今(jin)时(shi)吏部,总选(xuan)人(ren)物(wu),天下(xia)不(bu)过(guo)数百(bai)(bai)县,于(yu)(yu)六七(qi)百(bai)(bai)万(wan)户(hu)内(nei)(nei),诠(quan)简数百(bai)(bai)县令(ling)(ling)(ling),犹不(bu)能称其才(cai),乃(nai)欲(yu)于(yu)(yu)一(yi)(yi)乡(xiang)(xiang)(xiang)(xiang)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)内(nei)(nei),选(xuan)一(yi)(yi)人(ren)能治五(wu)百(bai)(bai)家者,必(bi)恐难得(de)。又即时(shi)要荒小县,有(you)不(bu)至五(wu)百(bai)(bai)家者,复不(bu)可(ke)令(ling)(ling)(ling)两县共管一(yi)(yi)乡(xiang)(xiang)(xiang)(xiang)。敕(chi)令(ling)(ling)(ling)内(nei)(nei)外群官(guan),就东(dong)宫会(hui)议。自皇太(tai)子(zi)以(yi)(yi)下(xia),多从(cong)德(de)(de)林议。苏(su)威(wei)(wei)又言(yan)废郡(jun)(jun),德(de)(de)林语之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)云:“修令(ling)(ling)(ling)时(shi),公(gong)何不(bu)论废郡(jun)(jun)为(wei)便?今(jin)令(ling)(ling)(ling)才(cai)出,其可(ke)改乎!”然(ran)高(gao)颎同(tong)威(wei)(wei)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)议,称德(de)(de)林狠戾,多所固势。由是高(gao)祖(zu)尽(jin)依威(wei)(wei)议。

五年,敕(chi)令撰(zhuan)录作相时文(wen)翰,勒(le)成五卷(juan),谓之《霸朝杂(za)集》。序其事曰:

窃以阳乌垂曜,微藿倾心,神(shen)(shen)(shen)龙腾举,飞云触石。圣(sheng)人(ren)(ren)(ren)在(zai)上(shang),幽显冥符,故(gu)称比(bi)屋可封(feng),万(wan)物(wu)斯睹(du)。臣(chen)(chen)皇基草创(chuang),便豫(yu)驱驰,遂得参可封(feng)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)民(min),为(wei)(wei)万(wan)物(wu)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)一,其(qi)为(wei)(wei)嘉(jia)庆,固以多(duo)(duo)也。若(ruo)夫帝(di)臣(chen)(chen)王佐,应(ying)运(yun)(yun)挺生,接踵(zhong)于(yu)朝,谅(liang)有(you)(you)(you)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)矣。而(er)班尔之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)妙(miao),曲(qu)木(mu)变(bian)容,硃蓝所染,素丝(si)改色。二十二臣(chen)(chen),功成(cheng)(cheng)尽美;二十八将,效力于(yu)时(shi)。种德(de)积善,岂皆(jie)比(bi)于(yu)稷、契(qi),计功称伐,非(fei)(fei)悉(xi)(xi)类(lei)于(yu)耿、贾。书(shu)契(qi)已(yi)还,立言(yan)立事(shi),质(zhi)非(fei)(fei)殆(dai)庶(shu),何(he)世无(wu)(wu)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)。盖上(shang)禀睿后,旁资群(qun)杰,牧商鄙贱,屠(tu)钓幽微,化为(wei)(wei)侯王,皆(jie)由此(ci)(ci)也。有(you)(you)(you)教(jiao)无(wu)(wu)类(lei),童子(zi)羞(xiu)于(yu)霸功;见德(de)思齐,狂夫成(cheng)(cheng)于(yu)圣(sheng)业。治世多(duo)(duo)士,亦因此(ci)(ci)焉。烟雾可依,腾蛇与蛟龙俱远(yuan);栖息(xi)有(you)(you)(you)所,苍(cang)蝇(ying)同骐(qi)骥之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)速。因人(ren)(ren)(ren)成(cheng)(cheng)事(shi),其(qi)功不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)难。自此(ci)(ci)而(er)谈,虽(sui)非(fei)(fei)上(shang)智,事(shi)受命(ming)(ming)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)主,委质(zhi)为(wei)(wei)臣(chen)(chen),遇高世之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)才,连(lian)官(guan)(guan)接席(xi),皆(jie)可以翊亮(liang)天(tian)(tian)地,流名钟鼎,何(he)必(bi)苍(cang)颉造书(shu),伊(yi)尹制命(ming)(ming),公旦(dan)操(cao)(cao)笔(bi),老聃为(wei)(wei)史,方(fang)可叙帝(di)王之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)事(shi),谈人(ren)(ren)(ren)鬼之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)谋乎?至若(ruo)臣(chen)(chen)者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe),本(ben)(ben)惭宾实,非(fei)(fei)勋(xun)非(fei)(fei)德(de),厕轩冕之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)流,无(wu)(wu)学无(wu)(wu)才,处(chu)艺文(wen)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)职。若(ruo)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)逢休运(yun)(yun),非(fei)(fei)遇天(tian)(tian)恩(en),光大(da)含弘(hong),博约文(wen)礼,万(wan)官(guan)(guan)百(bai)辟,才悉(xi)(xi)兼人(ren)(ren)(ren),收拙里闾,退仕乡邑,不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)种东陵之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)瓜(gua),岂过(guo)南(nan)(nan)阳之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)掾(yuan),安(an)得出入阊(chang)阖之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)阃,趋走(zou)太微之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)庭,履天(tian)(tian)子(zi)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)阶,侍圣(sheng)皇之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)侧,枢机帷(wei)幄,沾及荣宠者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)也!昔岁木(mu)行(xing)将季(ji),谅(liang)闇在(zai)辰,火运(yun)(yun)肇兴,群(qun)官(guan)(guan)总己(ji)。有(you)(you)(you)周典八柄之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)所,大(da)隋纳百(bai)揆之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)日,两朝文(wen)翰,臣(chen)(chen)兼掌之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)。时(shi)溥天(tian)(tian)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)下,三方(fang)构乱,军(jun)(jun)国多(duo)(duo)务,朝夕填委。簿领纷纭,羽书(shu)交错,或(huo)速均(jun)发弩,或(huo)事(shi)大(da)滔天(tian)(tian),或(huo)日有(you)(you)(you)万(wan)几,或(huo)几有(you)(you)(you)万(wan)事(shi)。皇帝(di)内(nei)明(ming)外顺,经(jing)营区宇,吐(tu)无(wu)(wu)穷之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)术,运(yun)(yun)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)测之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)神(shen)(shen)(shen),幽赞两仪,财(cai)成(cheng)(cheng)万(wan)类(lei)。咨谋台阁,晓喻公卿,训(xun)率土(tu)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)滨,责反常之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)贼(zei)。三军(jun)(jun)奉律,战胜攻取之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)方(fang);万(wan)国承(cheng)风,安(an)上(shang)治民(min)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)道。让(rang)受终(zhong)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)礼,报群(qun)臣(chen)(chen)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)令,有(you)(you)(you)宪章(zhang)古昔者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)矣,有(you)(you)(you)随事(shi)作故(gu)者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)矣。千变(bian)万(wan)化,譬彼(bi)悬(xuan)河(he);寸(cun)阴尺(chi)日,不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)弃光景(jing)。大(da)则天(tian)(tian)壤不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)遗,小(xiao)则毫毛(mao)无(wu)(wu)失。远(yuan)寻三古,未(wei)闻(wen)者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)尽闻(wen);逖听百(bai)王,未(wei)见者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)皆(jie)见。发言(yan)吐(tu)论(lun),即成(cheng)(cheng)文(wen)章(zhang),臣(chen)(chen)染翰操(cao)(cao)牍(du),书(shu)记而(er)已(yi)。昔放勋(xun)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)化,老人(ren)(ren)(ren)睹(du)而(er)未(wei)知;孔丘之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)言(yan),弟子(zi)闻(wen)而(er)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)达。愚情(qing)禀圣(sheng),多(duo)(duo)必(bi)乖(guai)舛。加以奏阁趋墀,盈怀满(man)袖,手披目阅,堆案积几。心无(wu)(wu)别虑,笔(bi)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)暂停,或(huo)毕景(jing)忘餐(can),或(huo)连(lian)宵不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)寐,以勤补(bu)拙,不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)遑自处(chu)。其(qi)有(you)(you)(you)词理(li)疏谬,遗漏阙(que)疑,皆(jie)天(tian)(tian)旨训(xun)诱,神(shen)(shen)(shen)笔(bi)改定。运(yun)(yun)筹建策,通幽达冥,从命(ming)(ming)者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)获(huo)安(an),违命(ming)(ming)者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe)悉(xi)(xi)祸。悬(xuan)测万(wan)里,指期来事(shi),常如(ru)目见,固乃神(shen)(shen)(shen)知。变(bian)大(da)乱而(er)致大(da)平,易可诛而(er)为(wei)(wei)淳粹,化成(cheng)(cheng)道洽(qia),其(qi)在(zai)人(ren)(ren)(ren)文(wen),尽出圣(sheng)怀,用成(cheng)(cheng)典诰,并非(fei)(fei)臣(chen)(chen)意所能(neng)至此(ci)(ci)。伯禹矢(shi)谟(mo),成(cheng)(cheng)汤(tang)陈(chen)誓,汉光数行(xing)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)札,魏(wei)武《接要(yao)》之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)书(shu),济(ji)时(shi)拯物(wu),无(wu)(wu)以加也。属神(shen)(shen)(shen)器大(da)宝(bao),将迁(qian)明(ming)德(de),天(tian)(tian)道人(ren)(ren)(ren)心,同谟(mo)归往。周静南(nan)(nan)面(mian),每诏褒(bao)扬,在(zai)位诸公,各陈(chen)本(ben)(ben)志,玺书(shu)表奏,群(qun)情(qing)赐委。臣(chen)(chen)寰海之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)内(nei),忝曰一民(min),乐推之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)心,切于(yu)黎献,欣然从命(ming)(ming),辄(zhe)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)敢辞(ci)。比(bi)夫潘勖之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)册(ce)魏(wei)王,阮籍之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)劝晋后,道高前(qian)世,才谢往人(ren)(ren)(ren),内(nei)手扪心,夙宵惭惕。檄(xi)书(shu)露板,及以诸文(wen),有(you)(you)(you)臣(chen)(chen)所作之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi),有(you)(you)(you)臣(chen)(chen)润色之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)。唯(wei)是愚思,非(fei)(fei)奏定者(zhe)(zhe)(zhe),虽(sui)词乖(guai)黼藻,而(er)理(li)归霸德(de),文(wen)有(you)(you)(you)可忽,事(shi)不(bu)(bu)(bu)(bu)可遗。前(qian)奉敕旨,集纳麓(lu)已(yi)还,至于(yu)受命(ming)(ming)文(wen)笔(bi),当时(shi)制述,条目甚多(duo)(duo),今(jin)日收撰,略为(wei)(wei)五卷云尔。

高祖(zu)省读讫,明旦(dan)谓德林曰(yue):“自古帝王(wang)之兴(xing),必(bi)有异人(ren)辅佐。我(wo)昨(zuo)读《霸朝集》,方知感应之理。昨(zuo)宵(xiao)恨夜长,不能早见(jian)公面。必(bi)令公贵与(yu)国始终(zhong)。”于是追赠(zeng)(zeng)其父恆州刺(ci)史。未几,上(shang)曰(yue):“我(wo)本意(yi)欲深荣之。”复赠(zeng)(zeng)定州刺(ci)史、安平县公,谥(shi)曰(yue)孝(xiao),以德林袭焉(yan)。德林既(ji)少有才(cai)名,重以贵显,凡制文(wen)章,动行于世。或有不知者,谓为(wei)古人(ren)焉(yan)。

德林以梁(liang)士彦及(ji)元谐之徒频(pin)有(you)逆意,大(da)江之南,抗(kang)衡上国。乃(nai)著《天命论》上之,其辞曰:

粤若邃古,玄黄肇辟,帝王神(shen)器,历数(shu)有(you)归。生(sheng)其(qi)(qi)德(de)者天(tian),应其(qi)(qi)时者命(ming)(ming),确(que)乎不变(bian),非人力所(suo)能为(wei)也。龙图(tu)鸟(niao)篆,号(hao)谥遗迹,疑而难(nan)信(xin),缺而未详者,靡得(de)而明焉(yan)。其(qi)(qi)在典(dian)文(wen)(wen),焕(huan)乎缃(xiang)素,钦明至德(de),莫盛(sheng)于(yu)(yu)唐(tang)(tang)(tang)、虞(yu),贻谋长世,莫过于(yu)(yu)文(wen)(wen)、武。大(da)隋神(shen)功积(ji)于(yu)(yu)文(wen)(wen)王,天(tian)命(ming)(ming)显(xian)于(yu)(yu)唐(tang)(tang)(tang)叔。昔(xi)邑姜方娠,梦帝谓(wei)己:“余命(ming)(ming)而子(zi)(zi)曰虞(yu),将与之唐(tang)(tang)(tang),而蕃(fan)育(yu)其(qi)(qi)子(zi)(zi)孙(sun)。”及生(sheng),有(you)文(wen)(wen)在其(qi)(qi)手曰“虞(yu)”,遂以命(ming)(ming)之。成(cheng)王灭(mie)唐(tang)(tang)(tang)而封太叔。又唐(tang)(tang)(tang)叔之封也,箕子(zi)(zi)曰:“其(qi)(qi)后必大(da)。”《易》曰:“崇(chong)高富贵,莫大(da)于(yu)(yu)帝王。”《老(lao)子(zi)(zi)》谓(wei):“域内四大(da),王居一焉(yan)。”此则名虞(yu)与唐(tang)(tang)(tang),美兼二圣(sheng),将令其(qi)(qi)后必大(da),终致唐(tang)(tang)(tang)、虞(yu)之美,蕃(fan)育(yu)子(zi)(zi)孙(sun),用(yong)享无穷(qiong)之祚。

逮皇(huang)家(jia)建国,初号大(da)(da)兴(xing),箕(ji)子必大(da)(da)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)言,于(yu)(yu)(yu)兹(zi)乃(nai)验。天(tian)(tian)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)眷命(ming),悬(xuan)属圣朝(chao),重耳区区,岂足云(yun)(yun)也!有娀(song)玄鸟,商(shang)以(yi)兴(xing)焉;姜(jiang)嫄巨(ju)迹,周(zhou)以(yi)兴(xing)焉;邑姜(jiang)梦帝(di),隋以(yi)兴(xing)焉。古今三(san)代,灵命(ming)如(ru)一,本枝种(zhong)德,奕叶丕(pi)基(ji)(ji)。佐(zuo)高帝(di)而(er)灭楚(chu),立宣皇(huang)以(yi)定(ding)汉(han)。东京(jing)太尉,关西孔子,生感遗鳣之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)集,殁降巨(ju)鸟之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)奇,累仁积(ji)善(shan),大(da)(da)申休命(ming)。太祖挺生,庇民(min)匡(kuang)主,立殊勋于(yu)(yu)(yu)魏室(shi),建盛业(ye)(ye)于(yu)(yu)(yu)周(zhou)朝(chao)。启翼轸之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)国,肇(zhao)炎精(jing)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)纪,爰受厥命(ming),陟(zhi)配彼天(tian)(tian)。皇(huang)帝(di)载(zai)诞之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)初,神(shen)光满室(shi),具兴(xing)王之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)表,韫大(da)(da)圣之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)能。或气或云(yun)(yun),廕(yin)映(ying)于(yu)(yu)(yu)廊(lang)庙(miao);如(ru)天(tian)(tian)如(ru)日(ri),临(lin)照于(yu)(yu)(yu)轩冕。内明(ming)外(wai)顺(shun),自险获安,岂非万福扶(fu)持(chi),百(bai)禄攸集。有周(zhou)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)末,朝(chao)野骚然,降志(zhi)执均,镇卫(wei)宗社。明(ming)神(shen)飨(xiang)其德,上帝(di)付(fu)其民(min),诛奸(jian)逆于(yu)(yu)(yu)九重,行神(shen)化于(yu)(yu)(yu)四(si)海。于(yu)(yu)(yu)斯时也,尉迥据(ju)有齐累世(shi)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)都(dou)(dou),乘新(xin)国易(yi)乱之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)俗,驱驰蛇豕,连合纵横,地(di)(di)乃(nai)九州陷三(san),民(min)则十分(fen)拥六。王谦乘连率(lv)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)威,凭全(quan)蜀之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)险,兴(xing)兵举众,震荡江山,鸩毒(du)巴、庸,蚕食(shi)秦、楚(chu)。此二虏也,穷(qiong)凶(xiong)极(ji)逆,非欲割(ge)鸿(hong)沟之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)地(di)(di),闭(bi)剑(jian)阁之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)门,皆将长戟强弩,睥睨宸极(ji)。从漳河(he)而(er)达负海,连岱岳而(er)距华阳,迫(po)胁荆蛮(man)(man),吐纳江汉(han)。佐(zuo)斗嫁祸,纷若蝟毛(mao);曝骨履肠(chang),间不(bu)容砺。尔乃(nai)奉殪戎之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)命(ming),运(yun)先天(tian)(tian)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)略,不(bu)出户庭,推(tui)毂(gu)分(fen)阃,一麾以(yi)定(ding)三(san)方(fang)(fang),数旬而(er)清万国。荡涤天(tian)(tian)壤之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)速(su),规摹指画之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)神(shen),造化以(yi)来(lai),弗(fu)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)闻也。光熙前绪,罔有不(bu)服,烟云(yun)(yun)改色(se)(se),钟石(shi)变音,三(san)灵顾望,万物(wu)影响。木运(yun)告(gao)尽,褰裳(shang)克让,天(tian)(tian)历在躬,推(tui)而(er)弗(fu)有。百(bai)辟庶(shu)尹(yin),四(si)方(fang)(fang)岳牧,稽图(tu)谶之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)文(wen),顺(shun)亿兆之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)请,披肝(gan)沥胆(dan),昼(zhou)歌夜吟,方(fang)(fang)屈(qu)箕(ji)颍之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)高,式允(yun)幽(you)明(ming)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)愿。基(ji)(ji)命(ming)宥密,如(ru)恆如(ru)升,推(tui)帝(di)居(ju)歆,创业(ye)(ye)垂统。殊徽号,改服色(se)(se),建都(dou)(dou)邑,叙彝伦(lun),薄赋轻徭,慎刑恤(xu)狱,除(chu)繁苛之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)政,兴(xing)清静之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)风(feng),去无(wu)用之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)官,省相监(jian)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)职。奇才间出,盛德无(wu)隐,星精(jing)云(yun)(yun)气,共趋(qu)走(zou)于(yu)(yu)(yu)阶墀,山神(shen)海灵,咸燮理于(yu)(yu)(yu)台阁。东渐日(ri)谷,西被月川(chuan),教暨北溟之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)表,声加南海之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)外(wai)。悠悠沙(sha)漠(mo),区域万里,蠢蠢百(bai)蛮(man)(man),莫之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)与竞。五帝(di)所不(bu)化,三(san)王所未宾,屈(qu)膝顿颡,尽为臣妾(qie)。殊方(fang)(fang)异类,书契不(bu)传(chuan),梯山越海,贡琛奉贽,欣欣如(ru)也。巢居(ju)穴处,化以(yi)宫室(shi);不(bu)火不(bu)粒,训以(yi)庖厨。礼乐合天(tian)(tian)地(di)(di)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)同(tong),律吕(lv)节寒(han)暑之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)候,制(zhi)作(zuo)详垂衣之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)后,淳粹得(de)神(shen)农之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)前。遨游文(wen)雅之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)场,出入杳(yao)冥之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)极(ji),合神(shen)谟鬼,通(tong)幽(you)洞微。群(qun)物(wu)岁成,含生日(ri)用,饮(yin)和气以(yi)自得(de),沐(mu)玄泽(ze)而(er)不(bu)知也。丹(dan)雀(que)为使,玄龟载(zai)书,甘露自天(tian)(tian),醴泉出地(di)(di)。神(shen)禽异兽,珍木奇草,望风(feng)观海,应化归风(feng)。备休祥于(yu)(yu)(yu)图(tu)牒,罄(qing)幽(you)遐(xia)而(er)戾止。犹(you)且父天(tian)(tian)子民(min),兢兢翼翼,至矣大(da)(da)矣,七(qi)十四(si)帝(di),曷可同(tong)年而(er)语哉!

若夫天(tian)(tian)下之(zhi)(zhi)重(zhong),不(bu)(bu)(bu)可妄据,故(gu)唐之(zhi)(zhi)许由,夏(xia)之(zhi)(zhi)伯益,怀道立事(shi),人(ren)(ren)授而(er)(er)(er)(er)弗(fu)可也(ye)。轩初(chu)四(si)帝(di)(di),周余(yu)六王(wang),藉(jie)世(shi)因基,自取而(er)(er)(er)(er)不(bu)(bu)(bu)得也(ye)。孟轲(ke)称仲尼之(zhi)(zhi)德(de)(de)过于(yu)尧、舜,著述(shu)成帝(di)(di)者之(zhi)(zhi)事(shi),弟子(zi)备王(wang)佐之(zhi)(zhi)才,黑不(bu)(bu)(bu)代苍,泣麟叹凤,栖栖汲汲,虽圣达而(er)(er)(er)(er)莫许也(ye)。蚩尤则(ze)黄帝(di)(di)抗衡,共工则(ze)黑帝(di)(di)勍敌,项羽(yu)诛秦摧汉,宰割(ge)神(shen)州,角逐争驱(qu),尽威力而(er)(er)(er)(er)无就也(ye)。其(qi)(qi)余(yu)欻起妖(yao)妄,曾何足(zu)数!贼(zei)子(zi)逆(ni)臣,所以为(wei)乱,皆由不(bu)(bu)(bu)识天(tian)(tian)道,不(bu)(bu)(bu)悟人(ren)(ren)谋,牵逐鹿之(zhi)(zhi)邪说,谓飞凫而(er)(er)(er)(er)为(wei)鼎。若使四(si)凶争八元之(zhi)(zhi)诚,三监(jian)同九臣之(zhi)(zhi)志,韩信、彭越深明(ming)帝(di)(di)子(zi)之(zhi)(zhi)符,孙述(shu)、隗嚣妙识真(zhen)人(ren)(ren)之(zhi)(zhi)出,尉迥同讴歌之(zhi)(zhi)类,王(wang)谦比狱讼之(zhi)(zhi)民,福(fu)禄蝉(chan)联,胡可穷也(ye)!而(er)(er)(er)(er)违天(tian)(tian)逆(ni)物,获罪(zui)(zui)人(ren)(ren)神(shen)。呜呼!此前事(shi)之(zhi)(zhi)大戒(jie)(jie)矣(yi)。诛夷(yi)烹醢,历代共尤,僭逆(ni)凶邪,时烦狱吏,其(qi)(qi)可不(bu)(bu)(bu)戒(jie)(jie)慎哉!盖积恶(e)既成,心自绝于(yu)善道,物类相感(gan),理必(bi)至于(yu)诛戮(lu)。天(tian)(tian)夺其(qi)(qi)魄,鬼恶(e)其(qi)(qi)盈故(gu)也(ye)。大帝(di)(di)聪(cong)明(ming),群臣正直,耳(er)目滥于(yu)率土(tu),赏(shang)罚参于(yu)国朝,辅助(zhu)一人(ren)(ren),覆(fu)育兆(zhao)庶。岂(qi)有食人(ren)(ren)之(zhi)(zhi)禄,受人(ren)(ren)之(zhi)(zhi)荣,包藏祸心而(er)(er)(er)(er)不(bu)(bu)(bu)歼尽者也(ye)?必(bi)当执(zhi)法未处其(qi)(qi)罪(zui)(zui),司(si)命(ming)已除其(qi)(qi)籍。自古明(ming)哲,虑远防微,执(zhi)一心,持一德(de)(de),立功坐树,上书削藁(gao),位尊而(er)(er)(er)(er)心逾下,禄厚而(er)(er)(er)(er)志弥约,宠盛思之(zhi)(zhi)以惧(ju),道高守之(zhi)(zhi)以恭,克念于(yu)此,则(ze)奸回不(bu)(bu)(bu)至。事(shi)乃畏天(tian)(tian),岂(qi)惟爱礼,谦光满覆(fu),义在知几,吉凶由人(ren)(ren),妖(yao)不(bu)(bu)(bu)自作(zuo)。

众星共(gong)极,在天成象。夙沙则主虽愚蔽,民尽知归;有苗则始(shi)为跋扈,终而大服。汉南诸国,见一(yi)面以从殷;河西将(jiang)军,率五郡以归汉。故能招信顺之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)助,保太山之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)安(an)。彼陈国者,盗窃(qie)江(jiang)外,民少一(yi)郡,地减半(ban)州(zhou),遇受命之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)主,逢太平(ping)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)日,自(zi)可(ke)(ke)献土衔璧,乞(qi)同(tong)溥天。乃复养丧家之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)疹,遵颠(dian)覆之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)轨(gui),趑趄吴(wu)越,仍为匪民。虽时属大道,偃(yan)兵(bing)舞(wu)戚,然国家当混一(yi)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)运,金(jin)陵是殄灭之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)期(qi),有命不恆,断可(ke)(ke)知矣。房风之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)戮,元(yuan)龟(gui)匪遥;孙(sun)皓之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)侯,守株难(nan)得。迷(mi)而未觉,谅(liang)可(ke)(ke)愍焉。斯故未辩玄天之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)心(xin),不闻君子(zi)之(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)(zhi)论(lun)也。

德(de)林自(zi)(zi)隋有(you)(you)天下,每赞平(ping)(ping)陈(chen)之(zhi)计。八年,车驾幸同州,德(de)林以疾不从(cong)。敕书追之(zhi),书后(hou)御(yu)笔注云(yun):“伐陈(chen)事意,宜(yi)自(zi)(zi)随(sui)也。”时高(gao)颎(jiong)(jiong)因使入京(jing),上语颎(jiong)(jiong)曰(yue)(yue):“德(de)林若患未(wei)堪(kan)行(xing),宜(yi)自(zi)(zi)至宅,取其方略。”高(gao)祖(zu)(zu)以之(zhi)付晋(jin)王广。后(hou)从(cong)驾还,在途(tu)中,高(gao)祖(zu)(zu)以马鞭南指云(yun):“待平(ping)(ping)陈(chen)讫,会以七宝(bao)装严公(gong)(gong),使自(zi)(zi)山(shan)东无及(ji)(ji)之(zhi)者。”及(ji)(ji)陈(chen)平(ping)(ping),授柱国、郡公(gong)(gong),实封八百户(hu),赏物三千段(duan)。晋(jin)王广已宣敕讫,有(you)(you)人说高(gao)颎(jiong)(jiong)曰(yue)(yue):“天子(zi)画策,晋(jin)王及(ji)(ji)诸将戮力之(zhi)所致(zhi)也。今(jin)乃归功于李德(de)林,诸将必(bi)当愤惋,且(qie)后(hou)世观公(gong)(gong)有(you)(you)若虚行(xing)。”颎(jiong)(jiong)入言(yan)之(zhi),高(gao)祖(zu)(zu)乃止。

初,大(da)象末,高祖(zu)以(yi)(yi)(yi)逆(ni)人(ren)王(wang)谦(qian)宅赐(ci)之(zhi)(zhi),文(wen)书已出,至地官府,忽复(fu)改(gai)赐(ci)崔谦(qian)。上语德林(lin)(lin)曰(yue)(yue):“夫(fu)人(ren)欲得(de),将与(yu)其舅。于(yu)公无(wu)形迹(ji),不(bu)(bu)须争之(zhi)(zhi),可(ke)自(zi)选一(yi)(yi)好宅。若不(bu)(bu)称(cheng)意(yi),当(dang)为(wei)营造,并觅庄店(dian)作替。”德林(lin)(lin)乃(nai)奏取(qu)逆(ni)人(ren)高阿那肱卫国县市店(dian)八十塸为(wei)王(wang)谦(qian)宅替。九年(nian)(nian),车驾(jia)幸(xing)晋阳,店(dian)人(ren)上表诉称(cheng):“地是(shi)(shi)民(min)(min)物,高氏(shi)强夺,于(yu)内造舍。”上命有司(si)料还价直(zhi)。遇追苏威自(zi)长安至,奏云(yun)(yun)(yun):“高阿那肱是(shi)(shi)乱世(shi)宰相(xiang),以(yi)(yi)(yi)谄媚得(de)幸(xing),枉取(qu)民(min)(min)地,造店(dian)赁之(zhi)(zhi)。德林(lin)(lin)诬誷,妄(wang)奏自(zi)入。”李圆(yuan)通、冯世(shi)基等又进云(yun)(yun)(yun):“此店(dian)收(shou)利如食千(qian)户,请计(ji)日追赃。”上因责德林(lin)(lin),德林(lin)(lin)请勘逆(ni)人(ren)文(wen)簿(bu)及本(ben)(ben)换(huan)宅之(zhi)(zhi)意(yi),上不(bu)(bu)听,乃(nai)悉追店(dian)给(ji)所住者。自(zi)是(shi)(shi)益嫌之(zhi)(zhi)。十年(nian)(nian),虞庆则等于(yu)关东诸道巡省使还,并奏云(yun)(yun)(yun):“五百家(jia)乡(xiang)正,专理辞讼,不(bu)(bu)便于(yu)民(min)(min)。党与(yu)爱憎,公行(xing)货贿。” 上仍令(ling)废(fei)之(zhi)(zhi)。德林(lin)(lin)复(fu)奏云(yun)(yun)(yun):“此事(shi)臣本(ben)(ben)以(yi)(yi)(yi)为(wei)不(bu)(bu)可(ke)。然(ran)置来始尔(er),复(fu)即停废(fei),政令(ling)不(bu)(bu)一(yi)(yi),朝成暮毁,深非帝王(wang)设法(fa)之(zhi)(zhi)义。臣望陛(bi)下(xia)若于(yu)律(lv)令(ling)辄欲改(gai)张,即以(yi)(yi)(yi)军法(fa)从事(shi)。不(bu)(bu)然(ran)者,纷纭未(wei)已。”高祖(zu)遂发怒,大(da)诟云(yun)(yun)(yun):“尔(er)欲将我作王(wang)莽邪?”初,德林(lin)(lin)称(cheng)父为(wei)太尉谘议,以(yi)(yi)(yi)取(qu)赠(zeng)官,李元操与(yu)陈茂等阴奏之(zhi)(zhi)曰(yue)(yue):“德林(lin)(lin)之(zhi)(zhi)父终于(yu)校书,妄(wang)称(cheng)谘议。”上甚衔之(zhi)(zhi)。至是(shi)(shi),复(fu)庭议忤意(yi),因数之(zhi)(zhi)曰(yue)(yue):“公为(wei)内史(shi),典朕(zhen)机密,比(bi)不(bu)(bu)可(ke)豫计(ji)议者,以(yi)(yi)(yi)公不(bu)(bu)弘耳。宁自(zi)知乎?朕(zhen)方(fang)以(yi)(yi)(yi)孝(xiao)治天(tian)下(xia),恐斯(si)道废(fei)阙,故立五教以(yi)(yi)(yi)弘之(zhi)(zhi)。公言(yan)孝(xiao)由天(tian)性(xing),何须设教。然(ran)则孔子(zi)不(bu)(bu)当(dang)说《孝(xiao)经》也(ye)。又誷冒取(qu)店(dian),妄(wang)加(jia)父官,朕(zhen)实忿之(zhi)(zhi)而未(wei)能发。今当(dang)以(yi)(yi)(yi)一(yi)(yi)州(zhou)相(xiang)遣耳。”因出为(wei)湖州(zhou)刺史(shi)。德林(lin)(lin)拜谢曰(yue)(yue): “臣不(bu)(bu)敢复(fu)望内史(shi)令(ling),请预(yu)散参。待(dai)陛(bi)下(xia)登封告成,一(yi)(yi)观(guan)盛礼(li),然(ran)后收(shou)拙丘(qiu)园(yuan),死且不(bu)(bu)恨。”上不(bu)(bu)许,转怀州(zhou)刺史(shi)。在州(zhou)逢(feng)亢旱,课民(min)(min)掘井(jing)溉(gai)田(tian),空致劳扰,竟无(wu)补(bu)益,为(wei)考司(si)所贬。岁余,卒官,时年(nian)(nian)六十一(yi)(yi)。赠(zeng)大(da)将军、廉州(zhou)刺史(shi),谥(shi)曰(yue)(yue)文(wen)。及将葬,敕令(ling)羽林(lin)(lin)百人(ren),并鼓吹一(yi)(yi)部,以(yi)(yi)(yi)给(ji)丧事(shi)。赠(zeng)物三百段(duan),粟千(qian)石,祭(ji)以(yi)(yi)(yi)太牢。

德(de)林(lin)美容仪,善谈吐,齐(qi)天统中,兼中书侍(shi)郎(lang),于宾馆受国(guo)书。陈(chen)使江总目送之(zhi)(zhi)曰(yue):“此(ci)即河朔之(zhi)(zhi)英灵也。”器(qi)量沉深(shen),时人未(wei)(wei)(wei)能测,唯任城王湝、赵彦(yan)深(shen)、魏收(shou)、陆遝大相钦重(zhong),延誉之(zhi)(zhi)言(yan),无所(suo)(suo)不及(ji)(ji)。德(de)林(lin)少孤,未(wei)(wei)(wei)有字,魏收(shou)谓之(zhi)(zhi)曰(yue):“识度(du)天才,必至(zhi)公辅(fu),吾辄以(yi)(yi)此(ci)字卿。”从(cong)官以(yi)(yi)后,即典机密,性(xing)重(zhong)慎(shen),尝云(yun)古人不言(yan)温(wen)树,何足称也。少以(yi)(yi)才学见知(zhi),及(ji)(ji)位望(wang)稍(shao)高,颇伤自任,争名之(zhi)(zhi)徒,更相谮(jian)毁,所(suo)(suo)以(yi)(yi)运属兴王,功参(can)佐(zuo)命,十余年间竟(jing)不徙级。所(suo)(suo)撰(zhuan)文集,勒成八(ba)十卷(juan),遭乱(luan)亡(wang)失,见五十卷(juan)行于世。敕撰(zhuan)《齐(qi)史》未(wei)(wei)(wei)成。

有子曰百(bai)药,博涉多(duo)才(cai),词藻清(qing)赡。释巾太子通(tong)事舍人(ren),后迁太子舍人(ren)、尚(shang)书礼部员外郎,袭爵安平县公,桂州司马。炀帝(di)恶其初不附己(ji),以(yi)为(wei)步兵校尉。大业末,转建安郡丞。

史臣曰:德林幼有操尚,学富才优,誉重鄴中,声飞关右。王基缔构,协赞谋猷,羽檄交驰,丝纶间发,文诰之美,时无与二。君臣体合,自致青云,不患莫己知,岂徒言也!
